Campbell Soup, an American soup maker, is geared up to install the latest version of Terra Technology’s Demand Sensing solution.
The new Demand Sensing provides an automated way for manufacturers to extract value from huge data, by using pattern recognition algorithms to create the best possible prediction of future sales for every item in every location, the company claims.
This technology upgrade will enhance the company's forecast accuracy that will enable it to cater to the needs of retailers and consumers in a better way.
Campbell Soup Supply Chain vice president Patrick Folan said that following the company's recent implementation of SAP's Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) tools for supply chain management, upgrading to Demand Sensing 5.0 was the next logical step.
"Better forecast accuracy will further our efforts to improve customer service, without the burden of carrying unnecessary inventory," added Folan.
Currently, manufacturers from more than 160 countries are using Terra Technology's Demand Sensing solution.
