AMP Holding's subsidiary Amp Trucks has acquired Workhorse Custom Chassis, a wholly owned member of Navistar International in the US.
The acquisition includes Workhorse's brand, logo, IP, patents, and the assembly plant, which has annual production capacity of about 30,000 chassis.
AMP plans to manufacture the Step-Vans and other vehicle types for the North American medium-duty, commercial truck market at the plant.
The truck company also aims to make products including its all-electric Workhorse chassis in the gasoline-powered and alternative-fuel powered models.
AMP chairman Jim Taylor said: "We look forward to owning Workhorse, a highly respected brand, and having the opportunity to install our electric power train in a well-proven chassis and, at the same time, continuing to satisfy the needs of long-standing Workhorse customers."
With the acquisition, AMP's product line up includes medium-duty commercial-grade electric, gasoline, propane, hybrid, and CNG vehicles.
