Honda to Introduce Honda FCV Hydrogen-Powered Concept Car at 2015 North American Auto Show

Honda is planning to unveil Honda FCV hydrogen-powered concept car at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Hydrogen fuel cell cars usually employ electric motor, which is similar to the one used in battery electric vehicles and plug-in electric vehicles.

It provides driving range similar to gas-powered vehicles, and can be refueled in three to five minutes, reported LA Times.

Honda has redesigned the body with low and wide aerodynamic features and clean character lines.

Honda claims that the car has more passenger space than the Honda FCX Clarity fuel cell vehicle and can accommodate five people comfortably. It added new powertrain packaging to the car.

Honda is using powertrain technologies developed by Earth Dreams Technology which includes fuel-efficient engines advanced electromotive technologies, and transmissions.

The Concept car was debut in Japan on 17th November, following whihc it announced that it will provide FirstElement Fuel with $13.8m in financial assistance, which will be provided to build additional hydrogen refueling stations across California to promote fuel-cell vehicles.

The Japenese car maker is also planning to introduce alternative-fuel vehicle lineup which will include Fit EV, Civic Hybrid, the CR-Z sport hybrid coupe and Accord Hybrid.
