ArcelorMittal Ostrava Completed a Major Investment Project to Modernize Its Manufacture

ArcelorMittal's Czech Republic-based subsidiary ArcelorMittal Ostrava has announced that it has completed a major investment project to modernize its manufacture of seamless pipes of small diameters and increase its production capacity for these products. The modernized small diameter seamless pipe line was officially put into operation on February 3.

The investment worth $7.6 million was completed in four months and will bring a higher quality and increased production capacity as well as cost savings and greater occupational safety. The modernization will increase the annual production capacity of the oil pipes by up to 18,000 mt from the current 24,000 mt.

At its Stiefel mill, ArcelorMittal Ostrava produces seamless OCTG such as tubing, drill pipes and line pipes with diameters in a range from 21.3 mm to 140 mm.
