ID Technology, a division of Pro Mach is set to demonstrate several lasers from its extensive range of laser coders at Pack Expo from 28-31 October 2012 in Chicago.
According to the company, laser coding on corrugated cartons is the latest in case marking technology and its lasers can be used to mark on a wide variety of substrates for date, lot and barcoding.
The laser marking application on a carton requires a special coating that needs to be placed in specific areas on the shipper. In order to create a visual contrast, the coder burns lines and graphics into the coating, which is similar to laser coders on primary packaging for date and lot codes.
Laser coding requires no consumables on the packaging production line, which need not be stopped for replenishment.
US-based Pro Mach has manufacturing facilities and offices throughout the US and Canada.
