JBT FoodTech, an American food processing machinery provider owned by JBT, has announced that it has signed a canning technologies contract worth $7m with a global food processor.
Under the deal, JBT will supply and integrate high speed filling and closing groups and a rotary sterilizer line to enable the processing of canned goods.
JBT FoodTech's Food Processing Systems Division vice president and general manager Steve Smith said "We are very pleased with the confidence this order expresses in JBT's leading canning technologies."
The project is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2013.
In February, JBT signed a freezing solutions contract worth $4m with a North American-based retail food products manufacturer.
JBT designs, manufactures, tests and services technological advanced systems and products for industrial food processing customers through its JBT FoodTech segment and JBT AeroTech segment. It operates in about 25 countries globally.
