The Plant Will Maintain a Low Cost Structure

Thai polyester and PET manufacturer Indorama Ventures (IVL) has announced plans to set up a new plant in the US with a capacity to produce 540,000t of PET polymers annually.

According to the company, the expansion, which is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2015, is set to take the company's total capacity in North America up to 2,100,000t per annum.

The plant will maintain a low cost structure and is said to take advantage of expected growth in the region.

The IVL board has also decided to carry out a debottlenecking at its PET plant in Wloclawek, Poland, instead of setting up a new line as it would be value accretive.
