Israel-based food ingredients company Frutarom Health BU has launched new Incaberrix superberry ingredient formulations for confectionery products.
Incaberrix is a natural ingredient which is sourced from Inca golden berries which is also known as Andean physalis fruit. It comes with superfruit health benefits offering sweet and sour flavour.
The company claims that Incaberrix is enriched with B-complex vitamins, protein and minerals, vitamin C and carotenoids. The product is exhibited at Fi Europe for sampling at the Frutarom Health booth. It is available along with gummies that come with natural gummies flavour and colour from Frutarom Peru.
Frutarom Health product manager Yannick Capelle said: "Incaberrix is an exciting natural ingredient. We see a rapidly growing interest from the market, not only from beverage producers, but also from food supplement and confectionary companies seeking new, natural ingredients rich in phytonutrients. Incaberrix meets the increasing demand for natural ingredients, specifically for natural sources of minerals and vitamins."
"Stability during processing and throughout shelf life is one of the main issues the food industry faces when using natural ingredients. Formulation challenges can involve stability to pH, light, and, temperature as well as oxidative degradation and interactions with other ingredients.

Recently, the Israel-based company agreed to acquire 100% of Taura Natural Ingredients for $70m. Taura Natural employs Ultra Rapid Concentration (URC) technology to develop and produce natural fruit ingredients that are used in making healthy snacks, breakfast cereals, confectionery, convenience foods and baked goods.
