Ford Calls Back 26, 400 Vehicles in North America

Ford Motor has issued a callback of around 26,400 F-650 and F-750 vehicles in North America on grounds of glitches in seat belt anchorage.

The recall covers 2011-2013 and 2015 model year vehicles in connection with a safety compliance issue with FMVSS 210.

The carmaker has found that the front passenger and center seat belts are not anchored in the correct position in some cases with respect to the seat.

Such a defect has the potential for causing injury in the event of a crash. However, the automaker is yet to confirm any injury or casualty in connection with the glitches.

The vehicles covered under the recall include certain F-650 and F-750 vehicles made at Escobedo Assembly Plant starting February 14, 2011 through April 28, 2015.

In all, there are 25, 941 vehicles in the US and federalized territories as well as 417 in Canada.

"Due to the significant number of cab and seat configurations for these vehicles, service procedures are still being developed in an effort to provide a service fix as quickly as possible," the company said in a statement.

Recently, the carmaker recalled 91 2015-model year Lincoln MKT livery vehicles in the US to address seating configuration.
