Mary Kay Begins Construction of New Manufacturing and R & D Facility in Texas

Global cosmetics company Mary Kay has started construction of a new manufacturing, research, and development facility in Lewisville, Texas.

Global cosmetics company Mary Kay has started construction of a new manufacturing, research, and development facility in Lewisville, Texas.

The new 480,000ft² facility is expected to support future requirements of the company's skin care, colour cosmetic, and fragrance products, which it distributes in more than 35 markets worldwide.

 With an investment of $125m, construction is expected to be finished in Q1, 2018.

"Mary Kay's new manufacturing and research and development (R&D) operations will be on the leading edge of design and production."

Mary Kay's president and CEO David Holl said: "Our company was founded in Dallas 53 years ago today and we are proud of our continued commitment to North Texas and products made in America.

“We are committed to the latest in technological innovation and Mary Kay's new manufacturing and research and development (R&D) operations will be on the leading edge of design and production.

“With the construction of this new facility, we will continue to produce best-in-the-industry products that our independent sales force members sell to Mary Kay brand lovers around the world."

Lewisville Mayor Rudy Durham said: "As a recreational and business hub of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Lewisville is a perfect fit with an iconic hometown brand such as Mary Kay.”

The beauty company’s existing facility is situated in Dallas and has been operating since 1969. Currently, the company has more than 500 employees in this unit while producing around 1.1 million products per day.
