Intertek, a provider of safety solutions, has announced that it has completed a European Union (EU) 10/2011 testing program involving about 30 grades of food contact stock shape materials for Quadrant.
Within the EU, all plastic food contact materials must be in line with the European regulation No. 10/2011.
Quadrant is a producer of polymer stock shape materials and solutions for food processing and packaging, aerospace, and other industries. It had selected Intertek as an independent service provider for this testing program.
Intertek's food contact compliance services provided to Quadrant covered overall and specific migration testing according to the relevant European regulations.
Intertek noted that Quadrant's food contact materials products sold as food grade approved have been tested on the stock shape according to the relevant regulations for intended applications.
Quadrant EPP Food Processing & Packaging Global Market Segment manager Ulf Barth said the completion of the testing process by the Intertek team allows Quadrant to serve the food market with the broadest range of thermoplastic stock materials fulfilling the newest demands specified by EU 10/2011.
