Chevrolet has unveiled its 2017 Camaro ZL1 sports coupe with advanced technology, better track capability and straight-line acceleration.
This 2+2 coupe is powered by a 6.2 liter 8 cylinder engine which can produce 640hp (477kW) and 868Nm (640 lb.ft) of torque.
This power is transmitted to the wheels by either a 6-speed manual transmission or one can opt for a new 10 speed automatic transmission.
In the 10 speed automatic transmission, the overall gear ratio is limited to 7.39.
This means smaller steps between gears, which enables the engine to remain at optimal rpm levels during acceleration, especially when exiting corners for quicker laps and quick responses for both down shift and up shift of gears.
The new Camaro is also fitted with 11 heat exchangers which provide optimal powertrain cooling.
Chevrolet Global Product Development executive vice president Mark Reuss said: "The Camaro ZL1 is designed to excel at everything."
"It's a 2+2 coupe offering incredible performance - acceleration, handling and braking - with the highest levels of technology and perfect chassis damping, making it suitable for everyday driving.
"It will compare well to any sports coupe, at any price and in any setting."
Chevrolet says that handling the new Camaro ZL1 is easy thanks to the lightweight structure, magnetic ride suspension and electronic limited slip differential.
The coupe is equipped with driver mode selector, dual mode exhaust and advanced connectivity features.
Camaro ZL1 has 20 inch forged aluminum wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tries and Brembo brakes with six piston, monobloc front calipers and 15 inch two piece front rotors.
According to Chevrolet, 2017 Camaro ZL1 will be available for sale later this year.
