Ford has announced that it has nearly completed the final part of a $2.6bn investment at its manufacturing operations in Valencia, Spain.
With the investment, the company aims to create one of the world's most advanced and flexible auto plants.
The investment included an initial $1.25bn announced in 2011 and later the company invested another $1.37bn creating 1,500 new jobs since then.
The investment will help the company to increase vehicle production at the Valencia plant by 40 % to a total of 400,000 vehicles, which is likely to go up to 450,000 vehicles per year in future.
Ford added that the Spanish plant will build six Ford models and several body styles in 2015.
Presently, the plant is responsible for the production of Mondeo wagon, Tourneo Connect people-mover, Mondeo Hybrid, Kuga SUV, and Transit Connect light commercial vehicle.
Vehicles including S-MAX, Vignale Mondeo, and Galaxy seven-seat people-mover are expected to hit production later this year.
The plant is expected to commence operations of a new Vignale Center this year, which designed to ensure the quality of products being produced at the plant.
Valencia plant uses new assembly line processes which make it one of the most efficient facilities of the company, and the company has been using more than 900 robots at the bodyshops to improve the quality of the production.
