Stellar Energy, a leading national provider of commercial solar systems, and Valley Fine Foods, the producer of hand-crafted gourmet pastas, have completed the installation of solar photovoltaic system at the natural foods provider’s facility in Yuba City, California.
The installation has converted the company's facility to 100% renewable energy.
The 656 kilowatt solar project is the second system Stellar Energy has delivered for Valley Fine Foods. It will produce approximately 1.7 million kilowatts-hours per year - the equivalent of powering 148 average US homes.
The solar systems were deployed both on the roof and as a fixed-tilt ground mount covering approximately 2 acres and were designed to maximize financial and environmental benefits. Utilizing the latest in solar technology and building processes, Stellar Energy was successful in delivering the system on schedule and on-budget with minimal impact to Valley Fine Foods' day-to-day operations.
Valley Fine Foods president Ryan Tu said that Stellar Energy provided the company the best design that maximized the energy savings.
"Having completed one system in Benicia, they were the obvious choice to complete our second system in Yuba City."

Valley Fine Foods produces pastas and gourmet food products. The company also provides private label products for grocers and restaurants. It offers its products through club and grocery stores in the US. The company was founded in 1992 and is based in Benicia, California.
