Dairy.com, a US-based Software as a Service (SaaS) provider, has completed the acquisition of Blimling and Associates and its two sister companies, which are involved in dairy market analysis, research, and consulting.
Blimling and Associates offers a range of services including research publications, training and educational efforts, on-going advisement or consulting support, as well as risk management strategy and execution.
Dairy.com CEO Scott Sexton said that to maintain top-notch service and protect customer-specific information, the firms are operating as one company with two divisions.
""Dairy.com delivers supply chain technology and the Blimling team focuses on dairy market services. Nothing has changed in the way we operate. Confidential customer data continues to be maintained and protected in the Services division or Technology division, wherever it originates," Sexton added.
With the acquisition, one Dairy.com product line is slated for change: Long-term cream forward contracting services will be phased out.
In the past, Dairy.com had brokered annual commodity contracts for clients. The company said that going forward, it will transition its efforts to providing market intelligence and strategy that enables customers to make informed, but independent, cream contracting arrangements.
Over time Dairy.com plans to develop new solutions that leverage the capabilities of both organizations.
"Ultimately, we want to become the industry's best, one-stop source for market intelligence and the technology platform for dairy commodity movements," Sexton added.
Dairy.com helps the dairy industry manage, trade, and move bulk dairy commodities through its Internet-based business solutions. The company, which is a leading Software as a Service (SaaS) provider, delivers bulk commodity trading, raw milk management, and transportation solutions for cooperatives, processors, manufacturers and haulers.
