Kitwave Wholesale Group has acquired Angelbell, which trades as Hulleys Frozen Foods.
The move has increased Kitwave's customer base to 30,000 apart from extending its geographic reach and product offering.
Hulleys is the second frozen food operation to join the group, after the addition of Eden Farm in 2014.
The company, which has been trading for more than 80 years, distributes ice-cream and other frozen food products.
Headquartered in Sheffield, Hulleys operates from six depots in Nottingham, Louth, Norwich, Kingswinford and Kirkham supplying a delivery network throughout England.
Kitwave Group group finance director David Brind said: "The acquisition of Hulleys Frozen provides an exciting opportunity for the Kitwave Group, that will provide additional customers, products and services to our existing offering.
"In addition to the acquisition earlier this year of Squirrels UK the Kitwave Group now has developed operations across the growing sectors of discount retail, foodservice and frozen product."
Kitwave was established in 1987 as an acquisition vehicle to buy independent wholesale businesses. NVM Private Equity backed the vehicle in 2011 with 7.5million pound of investment to support its acquisition strategy.
The firm has since then acquired Anderson Wholesale, Automatic Retailing, Teatime Tasties, Eden Farm, Squirrels UK.
