Italian carmaker Fiat is planning to invest about EUR1.2bn in its luxury car brand Maserati through 2014 to produce three new Maserati models.
Being invested as part of the carmaker's aim to drive its European operations to profit,the investment will assist in launching three new models including Quattroporte,Ghibli and Levante,which are anticipated to drive its sales to 50,000 cars in 2015.
Maserati has unveiled the new the Quattroporte sedan,which is based on Chrysler's platform,and is powered by Ferrari designed engine that allows the car to achieve a top speed of 307kmph.
Following the launch in 2013 at the Detroit Motor Show,Maserati is planning to sell about 13,000 units of Quattroporte sedan in the year.
After the Quattroporte,Maserati plans to launch the Ghibli model during late 2013 and the Levante SUV by the end of 2014.
Quattroporte and Ghibli models will be manufactured at the carmaker's Grugliasco plant near Turin and the combined production is expected to reach 20,000 by the end of 2013.
