Parmalat Make a Plan to Regain Competitiveness and Keep Production Facilities Operational

Parmalat has acquired certain business operations from Italian dairy establishment Consorzio Cooperativo Latterie Friulane (Latterie Friulane) for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition includes production, sales and distribution operations of dairy products such as pasteurized and UHT milk, yogurt, Montasio cheese, mozzarella and ricotta cheese, including the brands Latterie Friulane, Latte Carnia, SILP, San Giusto, Castello and Cometa.

The transaction also includes the acquisition of production facility and offices in Campoformido, buildings in Ponte Crepaldo, San Martino and Monfalcone, and the existing contracts.

Parmalat will continue to carry out and expand the activities of Latterie Friulane, by implementing a plan designed to regain competitiveness and keep the Campoformido production facilities operational.

It will also continue to operate those facilities that manufacture DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) products, while sourcing raw milk locally in the Friuli region.

The Italian Antitrust Authority has been notified about the acquisition, which is subject to certain conditions.
