Chinese automaker BYD has delivered 500 electric, e6 police vehicles to the Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau.
According to carmaker, the e6 electric vehicle (EV) will achieve a top speed of about 140kmph, while offering a range of 300km.
BYD claims that the silent engine of the BYD e6 will allow police to perform daily patrols and law enforcement activities within the region, while reducing CO2 emissions.
Additionally, the firm has delivered about 300 all-electric, e6 taxis in Shenzen.
Shenzen is currently planning to add about 500 additional BYD e6 pure-electric taxis and 500 more BYD electric buses to the public transport system.
