Automotive supplier Visteon has introduced HMeye cockpit concept which allows drivers to select controls through eye and head movement.
The new technology features hidden eye-tracking cameras that are capable of capturing the movement and send the data to an advanced human-machine interaction (HMI).
The company said it previously presented an early version of the technology to consumers at its research clinic, where it received positive response from vehicle owners.
Visteon claims that the HMI control solution is designed to reduce distraction and drivers will be able to control radio, cabin temperature and navigation though eye movement.
Visteon Electronics president Martin T. Thall said: "Visteon continually introduces working prototypes that utilize advancements in technologies traditionally found outside of the automotive space.
"We want to spark creative dialogue with our customers that can result in new automotive solutions to improve the driving experience."
