Jaguar released new information about its latest Jaguar XE, which has been labeled the most fuel efficient Jaguar to achieve over 75mpg.
The car is being built using aerospace -inspired technology which uses stiff bonded and riveted aluminum structures. It is the only car in its class that uses lightweight aluminum along with aluminum-intensive monocoque.
Jaguar XE is using the new grade of aluminum called RC 5754 and this new alloy has a high level of recycled material as well.
Jaguar said: "The Jaguar XE body uses over 75% aluminium content, which far exceeds any other car in its class."
"This gives us a body structure with unrivalled low weight: it's light but also immensely strong with extremely high levels of torsional stiffness."
"We've made sure our aluminium-intensive body structure exceeds all global safety standards without compromising on vehicle design or refinement."
The car is being built at the company's Solihull plant in the UK and will be unveiled in London on September 8th.
