Apple is preparing to start the production of its electric car by 2020.
According to a Bloomberg report, the California-based company has been secretly developing an electric car.
The usual timeframe for automakers for developing a car is around five to seven years. Apple is aiming for that timeframe as it underscores the project's aggressive goal.
The release of the car could lead to a battle for customers as both Tesla Motors and General Motors are aiming at releasing an electric vehicle that can go more than 200 miles on a single charge and cost less than $40,000.
If Apple enters the car industry, it will be similar to its entry into other industries. Although, the company wasn't the first to make a digital-music player or smartphone, once it entered those markets, its products redefined the categories.
