Italian luxury carmaker Ferrari has unveiled that new LaFerrari hybrid sports car at the ongoing Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland.
The new hybrid sports car is powered by a HY-KERS system, which includes a 6262cc 6.3L V12 engine and a 120Kw (163CV) electric motor, both mated to a seven-speed paddle-shift gearbox, that collectively generate an output of 949hp and about 900Nm of torque.
Claimed to be Ferrari's fastest hybrid sports car, the new LaFerrari sprints from 0-100kmph in about three seconds, while achieving a top speed of over 350km/h.
The sports car's hybrid system is incorporated with Brembo braking system, in addition to several new features that include new lightweight callipers that offer exact cooling and carbon-ceramic material (CCM) discs featuring a new composition.
The batteries of the car can be charged during under braking and when the engine generates more torque than required, especially when cornering.
Ferrari is planning to build and sell only 499 LaFerrari models globally through the end of 2014.
