Consumption of this product may cause serious or life-threatening allergic reaction in people sensitive or allergic to soy.
The product associated with the recall is 90-count Probiotic Elderberry dietary supplement, bearing UPC code 7-27783-00123-8 and an expiration date of 31 January 2015. The product was distributed across the nation through retail stores, mail order, and direct delivery.
No other New Chapter products are affected by the recall. No illnesses associated with the recall have been reported till date.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled product are advised to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
New Chapter noted that it is also issuing an alert through the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network to notify the consumers about the recall.
