Bottled water company Nestle Waters North America, a producer of Arrowhead Brand 100% Mountain Spring Water has introduced its new .5L ReBorn bottle that is made with 50% recycled PET (rPET).
Arrowhead, which uses rPET, will save resources and use 15% less energy than it takes to produce bottles from all-new materials, by producing the new ReBorn bottle.
Nestle Waters claims that the .5L bottle is expected to help to increase awareness and educate the public about the value of recycling and demonstrate how plastic bottles can be reused and given second life after they are recycled.
Arrowhead 100% Mountain Spring Water brand manager Gigi Leporati said by encouraging recycling and using recycled plastic in its products the company aims to keep plastic materials from being thrown away.
"Arrowhead is sourced from carefully selected mountain springs, so it is natural for us to be respectful of the environment to ensure the sustainability of our spring sources and be responsible with the resources we use," Leporati said.
Recycled PET plastic rPET is said to maintain the durability, safety and reusability of virgin PET and does not affect the taste or quality of the water.
