Hinduja Group subsidiary Ashok Leyland has sold its Defiance Testing & Engineering Services (DTE) to testing, calibration and advisory services provider Exova.
US-based DTE offers testing and engineering services to manufacturers and suppliers in the passenger car, light truck, bus and military vehicle sectors. It was acquired by Ashok Leyland in 2007.
DTE is also involved in component and system testing, fatigue and durability validation, system simulation and full vehicle structural testing.
Ashok Leyland said DTE has enabled the automaker reduce new product development time and costs through new skills in testing and validation.
Ashok Leyland vice chairman V Sumantransaid: "It is reflective of Ashok Leyland's dynamic shift in strategic priorities aimed at enhancing the value of its business in the medium term."
Defiance Technologies, another division of the company focused on IT and engineering services is not be affected by the transaction.
