Holiday Foods Recalling Products Containing Peanuts Not Mentioned on The Label

US-based establishment Holiday Foods is recalling close to 1,819 pounds of beef, chicken and pork products as they may contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The products associated with the recall include five packages with case code YX43242 and containing 100 pieces of Peruvian Brand Marinated Beef for Brochett on a Specialty Bamboo Skewer 4801804; and 50 packages with case code YX42172 and containing 100 pieces of Chicken Taquitos: Chicken Breast w/Rib Meat, Salsa and Cheese Wrapped in a Tortilla 4801273.

The recall also includes 55 packages with case codes YX43023 and YX43423 containing 100 pieces of Mango Chutney Chicken Samosa 4802693; and 232 packages with case codes YX43283, YX42753 and YX42613 containing 100 pieces of Beef (Tenderloin & Short Rib) and Manchego Cheese Empanada 4802622.

This recall has been initiated after Holiday Foods was notified by its spice supplier that the cumin in a spice mix used to formulate the products may have been contaminated with peanuts.

Produced between 5 August and 8 December 2014, all of these recalled products bearing establishment number EST. 18074 inside the USDA mark of inspection were supplied to wholesale distributors in Illinois, Indiana, Florida, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Texas.

No illnesses have been reported associated with the consumption of the recalled products.
