Dark chocolate energy supplement Energems has been accepted into membership with the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN).
The recognition marks a major accomplishment for the retail product, which began a branded product launch earlier this year.
Energems general manager Kristopher Trust said:

CRN was founded in 1973 and is the leading trade association representing dietary supplement and functional food manufacturers and ingredient suppliers. The association has more than 150 member companies, which largely represent the products marketed by major supermarkets, drug stores and discount chains across the globe. The organization provides its members with expertise and requires them to meet a host of federal and state guidelines, in addition to the CRN Code of Ethics.
This is another accolade under the leadership of industry-veteran Kristopher Trust. In August, Energems was voted Best New Product by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) and most recently was selected as a Best New Product of 2015 by Vitamin Retailer Magazine.
"We look forward to being a member of CRN and providing the kind of energy option that consumers want," Trust stated.
At only 50 calories per serving, three Energems are equivalent to a large cup of coffee and contain antioxidants naturally found in dark chocolate. The company recently began distribution with retail chain Walgreens and is currently on shelves across the country.
