United States Steel, the integrated steel producer in North America, announced the appointment of Burt Caldwell as general manager in charge of flat-rolled sales in Chicago. Mr Caldwell will replace Michael Meyers who is retiring to manage sales activities. Mr Caldwell started at U.S. Steel as management trainee in 1980 and advanced to industrial engineering position in 1982. From 1983 to 1993, he has been responsible for inside and outside sales for flat-rolled marketing. Then he was promoted to the newly formed construction commercial organization in 1999 and become manager of sales and service in Chicago in 2004. He served this position until 2012.
