Recently, it successively won the bid for engineering design of first phase carbide project (annual production of 4MT) of Guotai Xinhua Mining Co., Ltd. in Xinjiang. This was a second engineering project in non-metallurgical area undertaken by Baosteel Engineering through competitive bidding after the successful completion of carbide project of Shanxi Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd..
Xinjiang Guotai Xinhua Mining Co., Ltd. was jointly established in Xinjiang by Shanxi Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. and Bureau of Comprehensive Development of Ministry of Water Resources. Engineering design project of carbide undertaken by Baosteel Engineering this time had fully drawn on success experience from carbide project of Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd.. Main components of this project included construction of six 40MVA large furnaces of calcium carbide and design for their complementary relative auxiliary systems.
It was found out that specialized team of Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group Baofeng Engineering iron-making business unit was responsible for design of carbide project in Xinjiang. Baofeng Engineering had accumulated enormous experience in design process of carbide project in Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) through continuously overcoming numerous difficulties in environment, technology and schedule and unceasingly optimizing design scheme to fulfill specific requirements raised by proprietor. The one-year performance of the four furnaces of calcium carbide since commissioning in project of Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. had demonstrated that all technical parameters had reached domestic leading level.
