JLR Is Planning to Expand Its UK Plant

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), a unit of India's Tata Motors, is planning to expand its UK plant at Castle Bromwich to manufacture new models.

As per the plan, the company will invest around GBP200m in the plant and employ 1,000 people to increase its capacity by 50% and will use the facility to manufacture the new Jaguar F-Type sports car.

According to telegraph.co.uk, the investment follows three years after the factory was exposed with closure as it considered cutting its UK workforce due to sales crisis.

During the first quarter of 2012, the company has reported a 24.95% rise in its sales in Europe to 20,734 when compared to the same period last year.

Jaguar has plans to launch 40 new models in the upcoming five years.
