Organic yogurt maker Stonyfield is launching three new products in the organic whole milk yogurt range.
The company is introducing 100% grassfed whole milk yoghurt in vanilla, strawberry, blueberry and plain flavours.
Stonyfield's new product claims to be 100% Grassfed Whole Milk yogurt, meaning that it is made with milk of cows that graze exclusively on grass.
The cup of yogurt is being positioned as a breakfast option or as a snack.
The company claims to source its organic grassfed whole milk from Maple Hill Creamery, a milk producer.
Maple Hill Creamery claims that its cows are 100% grassfed throughout the year, without feeding on corn or grain, to produce rich whole milk. Through their association, the companies intend to make organic yogurts available to nationwide consumers.
In order to help consumers differentiate between grassfed variety and others, Stonyfield has gained a Pennsylvania Certified Organic (PCO) accreditation, which is present on the company's product label.
Stonyfield brand manager Ana Milicevic said: "During Stonyfield's first years, plain, simple, whole-milk yogurt was all that we made. In the 90s, diet fads led consumers to fear fat.
"But that simply wasn't the whole story. Since whole milk provides a wealth of benefits -and tastes great - we're excited to satisfy an increased demand and return to our roots."
Stonyfield Organic 100% Grassfed Whole Milk Yogurt is being offered at Whole Foods Markets across the US in 6oz vanilla, strawberry, blueberry and plain flavour cups as well as in 24oz. plain and vanilla flavours.
Additionally, the company is also launching Stonyfield Organic Greek whole milk line which will be available in plain, strawberry, vanilla, blueberry, honey and cherry flavours.
The whole milk line will also be offered in pouch format in flavour variants such as Pear Spinach Mango, Strawberry Beet Berry, Vanilla and Blueberry.
