Clic Internation Is Voluntarily Recalls Its Own Brand Sesame Paste Tahina in Canada

Clic International of Quebec is voluntarily recalling its own brand Sesame Paste Tahina in Canada due to possible Salmonella contamination, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

The product subject to the recall include Sesame Paste Tahina of 454g bearing lot code 1 350/12 and UPC code 0 58504 74097 7.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

The company is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace, while the CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

Consumption of food contaminated with salmonella may cause salmonellosis, a foodborne illness. Salmonellosis may lead to serious and sometimes deadly infections in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.
