Kirkland Signature Roasted Chicken Salad Withdrawn Over Listeria Contamination

Costco Wholesale Canada has recalled Kirkland Signature brand roasted chicken salad over possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

According to Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Costco has recalled two of its roasted chicken salads that contain fully cooked sliced chicken breast.

The Universal Product Code (UPC) numbers on the recalled products start with 2 47321 and 2 47319 and the packages have best Before dates up to and including 2015 AL 03.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may cause vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. However, no illnesses have been reported associated with the consumption of the recalled product till now.

The products were distributed in regions including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, CFIA said.

Recently, Lilydale recalled its oven roasted meat products from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled products include the 400g packages of oven roasted carved chicken breast and oven roasted carved turkey breast.
