US-based Woodstock is voluntarily recalling a single lot of its Tamari Almonds as they may contain soy that is not mentioned on the back label of the packages, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Woodstock noted that the front side of the retail package is correctly labeled Woodstock All Natural Tamari Almonds, 7.5oz. The product has incorrect back label information including nutrition facts, ingredients.
The product subject to recall bears UPC code 0-42563 -- 00838-3, best by 10/24/13, lot 12298, which appears on the shipping case sticker and back of the retail pouch.
The affected product was distributed to retailers in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, and District of Columbia.
No other lot numbers of Woodstock Tamari Almonds are affected. There have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of the recalled product.
Consumers intolerant to soy are advised to discard the product as it may cause a serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
