Nokia May Launch Low-end WP Mobile: Priced Below Lumia 520's

On Tuesday (Feb.26), Nokia CEO Stephen Elop hinted that the company is ready to launch a low-end Windows Phone with price lower than the Lumia 520 handsets.

Lumia 520 priced at 139 Euros (about 1,140 yuan), and it may not be the cheapest smartphone of Nokia.

When asked about other low-end devices, Elop just said: "There will be a lot of surprises in 2013." When asked whether it means there will be cheaper device than Lumia 520, he just smiled and repeated: "I can only say that in 2013 there will be a lot of surprises."

U.S. market research company Nielsen released 2013 Mobile Consumer Reports, saying that smartphone penetration in China has surpassed the United States and the United Kingdom, but still after South Korea. According to the report, the smartphone penetration rate of mobile phone users in countries as follows are: Korea 67%, China 66%, United States 53%, United Kingdom 51%, Russia 37%, Brazil 36%, Turkey 19%, and India only 10% .
