Scania Has Supplied 81 Tippers and Services to The Hidroituango Construction

Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania has supplied 81 tippers and vehicle-related services to the Hidroituango construction consortium in Colombia.

The company has supplied the P-series P 410 8×4, P 360 6×4 and P 410 6×4 truck models that will start operating at the construction site in April 2013.

All the trucks are equipped with Scania Opticruise automated gearchanging and the Scania Retarder auxiliary braking system, claims the company.

Scania Colombia managing director Enrique Enrich said the company is taking an important step in Colombia by introducing its trucks.

"With this operation, Scania will have the opportunity to showcase the quality of its products and services to the Colombian market," Enrich added.

Additionally, the manufacturer will provide a team of technicians for maintenance and repair at construction sites along with parts and driver training.

The Hidroituango consortium is constructing a hydroelectric power plant in northern part of Colombia that is claimed to be the largest plant in the country.
