The Institute of Packaging Professionals-US (IoPP) has signed an agreement with the Institute of Packaging Professionals-Kenya to license its new fundamentals of packaging technology online course.
The agreement also aims to make the packaging training program available to IoPP members in Kenya, and other countries in the region.
Expected to commence immediately, program funding will be provided by corporate sponsors to offset costs for participating Kenyan students.
IPACK-IMA Spa will be the first sponsor to contribute, and the funding will cover the program costs for the first ten student enrollments.
IoPP executive director Patrick Farrey said its online training course makes it possible to bring packaging training to nations where packaging industry is still in its infancy.
"As those who work in packaging in Kenya and other nations expand on their packaging knowledge and implement it in their companies, new opportunities will eventually open up for the global packaging industry," Farrey said.
Online packaging education will be offered by IoPP-Kenya to its local members using IoPP's existing e-learning platform.
