Subaru of America will showcase its new 2018 Crosstrek at the upcoming New York International Auto Show.
Under the hood, the Subaru 2018 Crosstrek is powered by a revised FB 2.0 litre 4 cylinder Boxer engine coupled with a direct fuel-injection system.
The new and improved engine produces a power of 152hp compared to its predecessor which produced 148hp.
The new Crosstrek is expected to arrive this summer and will be available in three trim levels which include the base, Premium and Limited levels.
According to the company, the Subaru Global Platform, along with Subaru Boxer engine, symmetrical all-wheel drive (AWD) and EyeSight Driver Assist technology, form its core technologies and the foundation of next generation of vehicles.
Subaru stated that the vehicle has been equipped with higher levels of safety. The EyeSight system includes an Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Pre-Collision Braking and Lane Departure and Sway Warning, Blind Spot Detection with Lane Keep Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are also available.
Apart from these safety features, there are steering responsive headlights which can illuminate curves as the vehicle moves towards them.
Other safety equipment includes as standard equipment, front seat side impact airbags, side curtain airbags and a driver’s knee airbag.
All trim levels with the Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) now come standard with driver-selectable X-Mode to provide better wheel control on slippery surfaces and steep inclines.
While the base and Premium levels will come with a six-speed manual transmission and are available with the Lineartronic CVT. The Limited trim will come standard with the CVT that features a 7-speed manual mode function with steering wheel paddle shifters that allow the driver to control transmission through pre-set ratios.
The Crosstrek has also been equipped with Android Auto and Apple Car Play through a 6.5-inch multimedia touchscreen.
Subaru’s Starlink Connected Services comes with a safety plus package that provides SOS Emergency Assistance, enhanced roadside assistance automatic collision notification, maintenance notifications, etc.
