Nissan has commenced production of the 2015 Nissan Murano at copany's Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant in Mississippi, US.
The company is planning to export the US manufactured cars to more than 100 markets and sell 85% of the locally produced vehicles in North America by 2015.
Murano is the eighth model to be built at the Nissan Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant; the other model includes Xterra, Frontier, Titan and Armada.
The company previously invested $2.8bn in the plant to expand its manufacturing capacity, and with that it has now added 1,300 jobs to accelerate the production of Murano.
Nissan Manufacturing senior vice president John Martin said: "The strategic investments that Nissan has made in Canton serve as a testament to the flexibility, efficiency and talent of our workforce and suppliers.
"In Canton, we build high-quality vehicles that compete and win globally, and the bold new Murano will build on that reputation."
