PPG Industries announced that Bryan Iams has been named vice president,corporate communications and marketing,effective Oct.1.Iams will report to J.Rich Alexander,executive vice president.In this role,Iams will be responsible for directing PPG's global external and internal communications including strategic messaging,media relations,crisis and issues management,brand management,public affairs and communications process management,according to a September 28 release.In addition,Iams will provide direct communications support to PPG Chairman and CEO Charles E.Bunch.
Iams joins PPG from FedEx,where he served since May as principal advisor,communications,for FedEx Ground headquartered in Pittsburgh.Previously,he directed external communications activities for Bayer Corp.and Bayer MaterialScience in North America as head of strategic and external communications.
"Bryan's experience as a trusted communications leader and adviser to large global corporations will serve PPG well as we continue to expand our operations and communicate our corporate brand around the world,"Alexander said,in the release.
