35% of The Motorhome and Production Capacity Will Increased by Car Manufacturer Ford

Car manufacturer Ford will increase the A motorhome and commercial chassis production capacity by 35% to meet the growing demand for recreational vehicles in the US.

The manufacturer will also increase the production capacity of the 6.8L V10 engine that powers its motorhome chassis lineup.

Ford US Marketing, Sales and Service vice president Ken Czubay said: "We're increasing our participation in this industry as motorhome customers return to the market."

According to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), sales of Class A motorhomes increased 14% in 2012, with 43% growth in the fourth quarter of 2012 and 33% rise in December sales.

The F-53 motorhome and F-59 commercial chassis are built by company's partner at Detroit Chassis facility in Detroit, while the 6.8L V10 gasoline engine is built at the Ford's Windsor Engine Plant in Ontario, Canada.

The 6.8L V10 engine that produces output of 362hp and 457lbft of torque is used in E-Series vans, F-Series Super Duty chassis cabs and the F-650 medium-duty truck.
