Taiwanese, Japanese Garment Associations Is Planning to Cooperate

Garment associations from Taiwan and Japan have entered into an agreement to cooperate with each other.

The Taiwan Garment Industry Association has signed a deal with the Japan Knitting Industry Association,under which both the organizations will make efforts to connect their downstream,midstream and upstream business segments.

Both the associations will also jointly conduct research and development activities,according to the agreement,which was signed during a Ministry of Economic Affairs event to promote SME cooperation and trade exchanges with Japan.

Representatives of small and medium enterprises(SMEs)from both Taiwan and Japan participated in the event.

Separately,the Taiwan Association of Logistics Management and the Japanese Material Handling Society have signed a deal to combine their resources in order to make greater inroads in the global market.

Over 20 Taiwan-Japan joint projects have been launched since the MOEA introduced the Taiwan-Japan SME cooperation and exchange promotion platform last year.These projects have so far attracted investment of US$13.65 million,according to the Ministry data.
