See’s Company, an establishment based in San Francisco, is recalling Milk and Dark Raisins as they may contain tree nuts and eggs which are not mentioned on the product label.
People intolerant or with severe sensitivity to tree nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pecans, cashews and/or eggs are at the risk of serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume these products.
The product subject to recall were sold bulk and packaged at the stores in 8oz. clear cellophane bags. These products were distributed nationwide through See's Candies Retail Stores, Licensees and Mail Order. The recall affects Milk Raisins with UPC: 737666083060 and Dark Raisins bearing UPC: 737666083053.
The problem was found after a retail store discovered a chocolate covered pecan in the raisin bulk pack.
Subsequent investigation revealed the problem was caused because of shared lines that produce nut containing candies. There is a possibility that some of the chocolate enrobed raisins could contain nut and egg residue.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled products and are intolerant to nuts and eggs are advised to return the raisins to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange.
