French dairy major Danone has agreed to acquire 40% stake in , dairy company Brookside Dairy.
The move is in line with the company's strategy to expand its presence across Africa.
Brookside currently sells long-life milk in Kenya and neighboring countries such as Tanzania and Uganda. It has more than 140,000 milk farms in the region.
Following completion of the transaction, Brookside will have expanded product range and footprint in key markets in the East African region.
The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Brookside Dairy has generated around €130m in annual revenues during 2013.
Danone has invested more than $1.35bn in the continent over the past two years, which includes the acquisition of 49% stake in Fan Milk International and controlling stake in Moroccan group Central Laitière.
