AkzoNobel has unveiled a new digital system for automotive industry, to measure and match the existing color on a vehicle.
The system comprises Automatchic Vision and Automatchic Smart Search.
Automatchic Vision is a hand-held device that incorporates digital technology, to provide precise color measurements, including on curved parts of a vehicle.
The color retrieval software, Automatchic Smart Search translates color readings by Automatchic Vision into the matching color formula.
AkzoNobel vehicle refinishes business digital color global manager Henri Bijsterbosch said: "Automatchic is designed to support standard bodyshop processes.
"The software ensures the optimum color match while minimizing paint use, reducing waste and saving valuable time."
According to the company, the new system has been tested with customers and received positive feedback.
