South Lyon, Michigan-based MST Seamless Tube & Pipe, a manufacturer of high-quality carbon and alloy seamless cold-drawn pipe and tube, announced that it has completed construction of a new 9,600 square foot pickle house, the fifth such structure at MST's 320,000 square foot facility. Construction on the new facility commenced in October 2012.
The result of a $6 million capital investment, MST's latest pickle house features modernized equipment and enables the company to produce an additional 450 tons of product monthly.
"Pickling is an integral part of the cold-drawn process, and the completion of this project represents MST's continued dedication and drive to improve its already world-class service for its global customer base," said Les Whitver, vice president of operations for MST. "By reducing material costs and increasing total production capacity by approximately 13 percent, this investment will serve to expand the capabilities MST can offer."
