Ascent Solar Technologies Inc of Thornton,CO,USA,which manufactures lightweight thin-film photovoltaic modules based on copper indium gallium diselenide(CIGS)using flexible substrate materials,has introduced its EnerPlex Jumpr,a multi-purpose battery pack that gives users the capability to store solar power generated from their EnerPlex Kickr IV solar chargers or from a conventional plug in power source.
The Jumpr product line includes the Model 4400,rated for 4400 milliamp-hours,that can provide about three recharges to your smartphone.It also includes the larger Model 7800,rated for 7800 milliamp-hours,which will charge larger devices such as tablet computers.

In line with its previous Kickr IV announcement,Ascent will continue to pledge 10%of the revenues from Jumpr beginning today through the end of the year to support the American Red Cross in the continued recovery effort of Hurricane Sandy.
