US-based foodservice equipment company Middleby has acquired Stewart Systems Global, a manufacturer of baking systems for the food processing industry.
Stewart Systems Global, based in Texas, US, specializes in the production of highly automated proofing and oven systems for the baking industry. It has annual revenues of approximately $30m.
Middleby chairman and CEO Selim A Bassoul said that the acquisition is complementary to the recent acquisitions of Auto-Bake and Baker Thermal Solutions, and enables the company to offer a portfolio of patented technologies and an integrated baking system.
"The global manufacturing, sales and support infrastructure of Middleby will allow us to further extend the presence of these brands internationally," Bassoul added.
The company noted that it is well-positioned to meet the customers' increasing demands for advanced technologies as they expand in emerging markets.
Middleby develops, manufactures, markets and services a broad line of equipment used for commercial food cooking, preparation and processing.
