Seat Has Released The New Leon in Mexico

Spanish automobile manufacturer SEAT has launched the new Leon in Mexico to improve its presence in the region.

With the launch, the manufacturer expects to secure a position among the 10 best-selling brands in Mexico, after recording 60% growth during past two years and has reported an 8.5% increase in the region during the four months of 2013.

SEAT Mexico head Edgar Estrada said, "We are confident that the strength of the new Leon will help us continue to grow in Mexico."

The launch of the Leon, which has recorded sales of over 25,000 units in Europe in about six months, follows the success of the Ibiza in Mexico.

According to the company, the five-door Leon will be launched in Mexico in June 2013, while the SC three-door version of the compact car is scheduled to be introduced in the last quarter of the year.

Both the vehicles will be produced at the Barcelona Martorell production plant.

Currently, the company sells the three- and five-door versions of the Ibiza, the Altea XL and Freetrack, the new Toledo and the second-generation Leon in Mexico.
